NDSU Awarded Heart Research Money

NDSU will play a role in helping lower the number of deaths caused by heart disease.

The university was just given $435-thousand in federal funding for heart and vascular disease research.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute funds will be used to examine the regulation of the three main pairs of arteries and branches in the cerebrum of the brain by the apelin receptor.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.
