Judge Grants Temporary Injunction To Halt Dakota Pipeline

A federal judge has granted the Standing Rock Sioux tribe’s request to temporarily stop work on a disputed section of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

A U.S. district judge said that work will temporarily stop between State Highway 1806 and 20 miles east of Lake Oahe to safeguard cultural sites in North Dakota, but that work will outside of the disputed land.

The judge is expected to issue a full opinion on the tribe’s lawsuit by Friday.
