Minnesota Man Set To Be Released From Sex Offender Program
Minnesota officials have decided not to challenge a Supreme Court ruling and will release the first person from the state’s controversial sex offender program without supervision.
Twenty-six–year–old Eric Terhaar has been confined under the program for six years after found guilty of sexual abuse when he was a juvenile.
Terhaar will be able to return to society without state supervision due to a federal judge’s ruling that the program violates the rights of the offenders and confining them without the hope of unconditional release.
The court ruled Terhaar will be released within the next couple of days.
