Soper Gets 40 Years in Sex Abuse Case

A North Dakota former school superintendent is sentenced after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of three teenage boys and child pornography.

Charles Soper, 52, will serve 40 years in prison for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

Soper was superintendent and principal of Sawyer school when he was arrested in 2015.

He says the teenagers mislead him into thinking they were of legal age.

None of the boys were students at Soper’s school at the time.

Soper graduated from Devils Lake High School and UND.
