Accused Murderer Changes Plea on First Day of Trial

One of the men accused of murder in the death of a Fargo man changes his plea the first day of his trial.

Jason Oien, 34, pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the death of Joey Gaarsland outside of Speck’s and Rick’s bars in May 2015.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault that same night.

Oein’s sentencing is expected to be in December.

All four men charged in the case have now plead guilty.
