Bison Preview: NDSU vs. Illinois State
NDSU football is back home this weekend for the 96th annual Homecoming game
The Bison will play Illinois State for the first time since the FCS championship two years ago.
The last time NDSU and the Redbirds met up was a great day for Bison Nation.
This Saturday will also be great for an entirely different reason.
The Homecoming game always brings out an extra layer of excitement, this year no different, especially with the fact that it coincides with the Philadelphia Eagles bye week.
Coach Chris Klieman met the media this afternoon.
He said he’s not sure yet on Carson Wentz’s plan for the weekend, but Wentz is far from the only alum that will make it back to the dome, which is exactly the way the Bison like it.
“A number of alumni are coming back, so I think that’s really important to our program,” said Coach Klieman. “To make sure we put on a good show for those alums. And they’re why we play. We do it for the guys who put the jersey on before us, so we welcome all those guys back. But from our routine, as far as what we’re going to do this week, nothing’s really going to change.”
And why should it?
The Bison are coming off an open week.
Including the playoffs, NDSU’s won 22 straight after an open week.
Illinois State has been very enigmatic this year and we’ll hear from Coach Klieman on which version of the redbirds he expects to see in Sports.
