Five Arrested in South Moorhead Robbery
Five people are facing multiple charges after a drug robbery in south Moorhead.
Police say 20-year-old Deandre Lacroix of Moorhead and 20-year-old Mercedes Lilejequist of Glyndon were arrested in the 1100 block of 19TH Street South after reports of five people beating up a 17-year-old.
Lt. Tory Jacobson says the teen was trying to sell marijuana, but it turns out the buyers planned on robbing him instead.
Three juveniles are also expected to be charged.
“People sometimes view even marijuana as something that is so commonplace and not dangerous, but transactions like this are illegal and very dangerous, and this demonstrates that,” Moorhead police Lt. Tory Jacobson says.
The victim sustained non–life–threatening injuries to his face and is not facing charges at this time.
