Former Anti-Vaxx Mom: “I Put My Kids at Risk”
A mother of three is speaking out and wants to encourage parents to vaccinate their children.
Kristen O’Meara says she supported the anti-vaccination stance but her change of heart came when her three children became sick with the Rotavirus and had to be rushed to the hospital.
Rotavirus causes severe diarrhea and can be fatal.
O’Meara says she wishes she would have researched pro-vaxx information as vigorously as she did anti-vaxx because she would have been informed about her choices.
She says after her girls were finally well after three weeks, she knew she had to make a change.
“I scoured you know everything I could possibly find about why vaccines might be harmful,” said O’Meara. “I became pretty convinced. I felt guilty. I put my kids at risk.”
O’Meara says she was able to put her children on a vaccination schedule and reports all three are now up to date on their shots.
She wants to encourage parents to get educated about vaccinations before making a decision that could put their children in a life or death situation.
