Hunter Murder Trial: Delayed as Attorney Leaves
Another attorney has departed the case of a man charged with killing two men in Fargo.
A judge has allowed attorney Nick Thornton to withdraw from Ashley Hunter’s case.
His trial on murder charges was supposed to start next Tuesday but will now be delayed so a new attorney can get up to speed.
Hunter is charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Clarence Flowers and Sam Traut.
He sued his former attorney, Steve Mottinger, over what he called “issues” between them.
Hunter said he felt pressured to plead guilty to murder charges when he says he “is not the guy.”
