United Way Gets Surprise Bonus Donation

There was a big surprise at the presentation ceremony for BlackRidgeBANK’s check presentation to United Way.

The bank held a silent auction and other fundraising events to raise $24,000 for United Way of Cass–Clay.

The winner of the silent auction received a signed Carson Wentz Jersey for $4,000.

But at the last minute, Scott Differding, owner of SA Mechanical, was offered a second jersey for a grand total of $10,000.

Differding didn’t hesitate to break out his checkbook and accept the deal bringing the total money raised to $30,000.

“Well I mean I always wanted another jersey however it goes to a good cause, The United Way,” said Differding. “So I thought ‘why not’ because they keep everything locally and they help out everybody in our community. I’ll have them framed and probably hang them in my office at home or maybe down in the basement.”

BlackRidgeBANK leaders say 100% of its employees helped raise money for the fundraiser.

They say their hard work was essential to the success of this year’s drive.
