Congressman Rick Berg Pushes for C-27 Mission

Congressman Rick Berg wants to save the North Dakota Air National Guard's C–27J mission.
Berg joined members of the F–M West Fargo Air National Guard Support Group at the Fargo Air Museum to talk strategy.
He is pushing for the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, which could STOP the retirement of the C–27J program.
Berg says there could be a vote in the full House as early as next week.
"A manned mission for North Dakota is key. This is the first step, but there's a heck of a lot of hard work that needs to happen as we move forward. This is an important, important mission not only for North Dakota, but it's important for our country, " said Berg.
"The state would have a real asset that they would not have access to so it would be a tremendous loss if we didn't get this mission, " said Darrol Schroeder of the Air Guard Support Group.
If it passes, the bill will help the "Happy Hooligans."
The guard had been expecting a conversion to the C-27 cargo aircraft until recent defense department budget cuts were announced.
The Air Guard now flies C-21 lear jets.
