Three Sentenced for Tribal Fraud

A federal judge has sentenced three people for stealing from the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota.

Bruce Walking Eagle, Rochelle Walking Eagle and Lorna Walking Eagle each were sentenced to two years of probation and restitution.

All three pleaded guilty in March to accepting tribal benefits to which they were not entitled.

Between the three of them, they must repay over 16–thousand dollars.
