RedHawks Streak Breeds Confidence (VIDEO)

What a difference a month makes.

“It was a situation where earlier in the year, a lot of people were kind of scuffling,” said center fielder Nic Jackson.

But now, the RedHawks are hitting on all cylinders.

“You don’t really know what’s going on," said right fielder Buddy Sosnoskie. "I mean, we just go out and try to win each game.”

And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing. Winning each and every game, well at least for the last two weeks.

Their streak is now 12 in a row, three shy of the American Association record.

The team was dead last in the North Division standings as of June 21st, eight games back of Winnipeg.

A little more than 3 weeks later, they’re now in first. Their confidence, soaring, as quick as their ascent in the standings.

“We Just go out each day with the mind set that we’re going to win today,” Sosnoskie said.

Jackson said, “A lot of the guys are a lot more comfortable, we all know that the next guy in the order is going to basically pick the other guy up.”

There is plenty of season left and the RedHawks can’t win forever, but a 12 game winning streak is no fluke.

Expectations are now high, with the ultimate goal in sight.

“Everybody’s kind of rolling," Manager Doug Simunic said. "If they can carry out their role, this could be something special down the line.”
