A man is dead after his motorcycle hits a light pole in South Fargo.
It happened around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.
Police say the man was riding eastbound on 34th Avenue South before he lost control, hit a curb, then crashed into the light pole.
"An eastbound motorcycle either A, lost control or something else happened and went off the roadway, struck a metal pole. It has been confirmed that the rider has passed away, " said Sgt. Ryan Dorrheim, Fargo Police Department.
There were several people who witnessed the crash, saying the motorcyclist was speeding.
"I'd imagine he was going at least 80. When he hit the brakes the bike just started fishtailing. So he lost control there once it starts fishtailing and he came up the curb and hit the light pole head on, no helmet, " said Jeremiah Berlin, a witness.
The man was taken to Essentia hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He's a 26-year-old Fargo man, but his name has not been released.
The road was blocked off for scene reconstruction.
