Wright, Braun Sign to Play Professionally in Europe

Former North Dakota State University men's basketball players TrayVonn Wright and Taylor Braun have signed contracts to begin their professional careers in European leagues.
 
Wright, a 6-foot-7 native of Waterloo, Iowa, signed with WBC Raiffeisen Wels in Austria. Braun, a 6-foot-7 native of Newberg, Ore., has agreed to a contract with Okapi Aalstar in Belgium's top league.
 
WBC Raiffeisen Wels is located in Wels, Austria, and plays in the top Austrian league, Österreichische Basketball Bundesliga (OBL).
 
Okapi Aalstar is located in Aalst, Belgium, and plays in the top-tier Basketball League Belgium (BLB), formerly known as the Ethias League.
 
Wright and Braun each played for NDSU from 2010-14. Wright was named second team All-Summit League for his senior season in 2013-14, averaging 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. He concluded his career second all-time at NDSU with 176 blocked shots, and his 127 games played in a Bison uniform are tied for the second most in school history.
 
Braun, The Summit League' Player of the Year for the 2013-14 season, averaged 17.6 points per game this season to lead the league in scoring, as well as averaging 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals. He scored in double figures 28 times, including four games of 30 or more points. Braun also posted single-game highs of 15 rebounds and 11 assists, and his 564 points scored this season were the eighth-most ever by an NDSU player.
 
Braun was an All-Summit League first team selection, NABC All-District honoree, and Associated Press honorable mention All-American in 2014. He recently completed a stint with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League, averaging 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in three games.
