BARNESVILLE, Minn. -

People in Barnesville  have overwhelmingly rejected a 35.2 million dollar school construction plan.

Seventy-one percent of voters said "NO" to the plan with just 29 percent voting "YES".

The renovation plans included a new gymnasium for the elementary and high school.

It has been thirty years since the last major renovation at the schools.

Some people who voted "no" say they think there may be a better way to renovate more economically.
