FARGO, N.D. -

The American Cancer Society hosts a rally to inform the public of upcoming cancer fundraisers and events at SideStreet Grill & Pub.

The main focus of the rally was to inform locals of the details for the Making Strides Against Cancer community walk on October 8th.

Last year the event raised $14,000 for breast cancer research and had 40 volunteer walkers participate.

This year they hope to raise at least $20,000.

"Oh yes it's crazy we're doing very well already. I'm pleased with how much money has come in. I think right now we're sitting at approximately $3,000 within the first couple months of us starting so I'm pleased," says Tammy Osvold Chairperson of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
