DILWORTH, Minn. -

The Sargent County Sheriff, charged after an alleged fight with three women at a Dilworth bar in May, will only pay a fine if he agrees to stay out of trouble.

Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says charges against Sheriff Travis Paeper will be dropped if he pays $150 in court costs and stays out of trouble for one year.

Paeper pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct charges.

Dilworth Police say Paeper refused to leave the Red Hen Taphouse and accused an officer of not "backing a brother in blue".
