Fargo's city commission presents the preliminary budget for 2017.
The Mayor along with city commission held a meeting to discuss and review the preliminary 2017 budget in City Hall.
Mayor Mahoney says this year the budget will be focused on public services like law enforcement and infrastructure.
"We're adding five more police officers to the budget, we're working the health department to add some personnel to that area as well to address some of the opioid issues and other issues that are facing our community and then we're going to do some infrastructure issues with the police force as well," Mahoney says.
The next step for the budget will be a meeting open to the public to address questions or concerns the community may have before the budget is officially approved.
That public meeting will be held on September 26th.
