School is back in session and students, faculty and staff aren't wasting any time in trying to build a better community.
Fargo North's entire freshman class participated in a RESPECT retreat, which is led by Youth Frontiers of Minneapolis.
The goal of the retreat is for students to work together with each other as well as faculty and staff to build a positive school environment.
Organizers say they especially want each student to know they matter.
"Helps develop our school culture we're building and our senior leaders are here. We have over 30 some senior leaders that help extend that tradition we have here at North High School that people respect one another," said North High Principal Andy Dahlen.
Fargo North seniors on the Student Council and from other school clubs helped by being group leaders and helping the freshman class build empathy and learn ways to prevent bullying.
