A Fargo North student faces charges, after carrying a BB gun onto school grounds.
A school resource officer searched the student and then confiscated the weapon.
The officer says no threats were involved in the incident and the gun was not loaded.
The student was removed from school and taken to a juvenile lock up facility.
Administrators say that once the investigation is over, the student will face either suspension or expulsion.
"My suggestion is always that parents need to know what their students are up to, need to know what their students have with them in their possession. They need to know what they might have in their backpacks, those types of things so that when they're coming to school they're not bringing these things," says Fargo Schools Superintendent Jeff Schatz.
The student has been charged with having a concealed weapon and also resisting arrest.
