The West Fargo Park District celebrates the grand opening of the Rustad Recreation Center, southwest of Costco.

In 2006, the district completed a study that identified a need for a recreation space in the area.

The facility is free to the public and has space for both fitness and business.

Meeting rooms are available for use as well as a basketball court , volleyball court and track.

There will be programs offered for a fee for all ages that include art, science and sports.

"I think it was really about trying to meet needs and we have a lot of young families in West Fargo and we also have an aging population so we really think we're going to hit all aspects of ages," said Barb Erbstoesser, Executive Director of the West Fargo Park District.

The center cost $7.8 million dollars to build.

The address is 601 26th Ave. East, West Fargo.
