Man in Shootout With UND Police Now Behind Bars

41-year-old David Elliott is in the Grand Forks County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment and fleeing.

Elliott was shot several times after two high speed chases and ramming a deputy’s vehicle.

The shooting happened in late February in the parking lot of Altru Hospital.

Elliott is due in court on Monday.

The Grand Forks County States Attorney declined to take any action against UND Officer Jared Braaten.
