Alleged Fake Emergency Call Prompts Grand Forks Air Force Base to Lockdown

An investigation is underway after a temporary lockdown at Grand Forks Air Force Base.

The base went into lockdown around 5:30 tonight and no vehicles were allowed on the base for almost 2 hours.

Base officials say they were informed of a potential domestic violence incident on base and locked it down to investigate.

Security forces determined there was no truth to the initial report.

The address associated with the call did not exist.

The name of an airman tied to the call is not listed among the personnel.

The sheriff’s department has investigated fake computer-generated emergency calls in the past and says this could be a similar case.
