Fargo Teen Arrested for Passing Fake Money in Moorhead

A Fargo teen has been arrested in Moorhead for passing fake $20 bills at several fast food restaurants.

19-year-old Thang Truong is charged with nine counts of felony possession of counterfeit currency.

Police say Truong used the fake bills to obtain cash back by making small purchases, such as a cup of coffee, in at least three Moorhead restaurants.

All of the bills had the same serial number.

Police are working with the FBI to determine where the fake money is coming from.
