ND State Historical Society Wants Your Input
North Dakota’s State Historical Society wants your input on how the group should promote and manage the homestead of one of the world’s most famous musicians.
Lawrence Welk’s homestead was purchased by the society after the Legislature gave them $100,000 to turn the six acre site into a state historical spot.
North Dakota lawmakers also agreed to pay $50,000 every year to help keep up with the maintenance of the homestead.
The society is holding a public meeting at the Shed Café and Bar in Ashley on Tuesday at 6pm and they want your comments on how they should encourage people to visit and how the site should be managed.
