Blue Cross Blue Shield North Dakota to Eliminate 73 Jobs

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota blames the loss of the Public Employees Retirement System Contract for layoffs and cutting back on millions of dollars in expenses.

Sanford Health Plan outbid the Blues on the contract, which the insurance company had been handling for nearly 40 years.

73 positions will be cut and more than $7 million dollars will be cut from printing, building and consulting expenses.

Almost $4 millionĀ  dollars of that amount will be cut from annual vendor contracts.
