Larimore Teen Honored by Fire Department & Sheriff for Building Save

A Larimore teen is honored for her quick thinking in helping save a building from burning to the ground.

“Kiara Miller for her great active citizenship and saving an apartment.

The Larimore Volunteer Fire Department honored 13-year-old Kiara Miller by giving her a plaque and a medal.

She also received a gift from the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire department says Kiara saw a fire next to the entrance of an apartment complex at 620 Towner Avenue and called 9-1-1.

Firefighters were able to respond quickly and put out the fire, saving the building from a total loss.
