Meet Jaxon: “Miracle Baby” Celebrates First Birthday
Doctors are calling one-year-old Jaxon Buell a miracle baby.
But to his parents, he’s just their energetic son.
Jaxon has a rare brain malfunction and was born missing most of his skull.
With no known cure, his parents say doctors told them Jaxon wouldn’t survive long.
But his mother says her son is defying the odds and is even learning how to speak and move around on his own.
As for his long-term outlook, Jaxon’s doctors are not sure but his parents say they are taking it day by day.
“They told us at first two weeks and once we got to two weeks, it was they changed it to two months, and then they changed it to two years. So now his doctors are finally telling us ‘we don’t know.’ Jaxon is writing his own book. They don’t know,” says Brittany Buell, Jaxon’s mother.
The family has a go-fund-me account where more than 127,000 people have pledged well wishes and support with the #jaxonstrong.
