Two construction workers in West Fargo are rescued after a trench they were working in collapsed, trapping them.
Fire departments from West Fargo and Fargo as well as the police department responded to the scene at 311 15th Street Northwest.
They found one worker trapped in clay up to his waist and the other trapped up to his knees.
They freed the man up to his knees but ran into a problem with the second worker, who was pinned in by concrete.
“One gentlemen’s leg was buried under two by ten footing that was used to pour concrete and when it sloughed off, it broke that footing, it turned the two by ten on the flat side. It appears it probably broke his tib-fib. His leg is trapped under there,” says Capt. Chris Pieper, Fargo Fire Department.
It took just more than half an hour to free both workers.
Both were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
