UND Announces Investigation into Alleged Frat Hate Crime
UND announces they will launch an investigation into the alleged hate crime accusations at a university fraternity.
The university says they want to look into if either party violated federal discrimination laws or the student code of conduct.
Grand Forks Police say 18-year-old Haakon Gisvold made up a story about being an assault victim.
Gisvold said he was at the fraternity when people began taunting him with homophobic slurs and then assaulted him.
After the talking to witnesses, police recommended charges Gisvold for lying but prosecutors declined.
