Minnesota Woman Pulled Over for Drinking Coffee While Driving
A Minnesota woman says she was pulled over by police while sipping coffee during her morning commute in St. Paul.
Lindsey Krieger says she had just finished merging onto I-94 when a police officer pulled her over.
Krieger says the officer told her she was pulled over for drinking coffee, which could lead to distracted driving.
She says she is “dumbfounded” and that the traffic stop is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars.
The officer gave Krieger a warning for the distracted driving but did give her a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt, something Krieger says she took off when she was pulled over.
St. Paul Police say anything a driver is doing in a car to keep them from attentive driving is against the law, although he would not speak of the case specifically.
Krieger says she is contesting the ticket.
