Local University Creates A New Variety of Cold-Resistant Grapes
The University of Minnesota has created a new cold–resistant grape.
The new variety of grape is called Itasca, and will be used to make dry white wines.
Itasca vines should be ready for purchase next year and will take another five years before wine from Itasca grapes can be expected in stores.
Itasca is the fifth cold–resistant grape the university has created.
