Record Number of STDs Reported In Minnesota Last Year
The Minnesota Department of Health says there were a record number of sexually transmitted diseases diagnosed in the state in 2015.
The department said that there were nearly 26,000 STDs diagnosed last year, up six percent from 2014.
State officials say this report shows a need for improved education about STDs among the public and health care providers.
Chlamydia was the most commonly reported STD with over 21,000 cases diagnosed last year.
