Candidate Amanda Hinson Stakes Claim for 2016 Congress Seat

Amanda Hinson of Long Prairie, Minnesota is staking her claim in the race for Congress.

The Republican is running for the 7th Congressional District seat held by Democrat Collin Peterson.

Hinson served 14 years in volunteering in ministry leadership and says her call to politics stemmed from her return home from Russia in 2015.

Hinson says it’s time to take action on the nation’s growing debt and issues with Obamacare.

“I’ve talked to people in this district they’re ready for a change, they’re ready for someone else to go to Washington, and speak for our conservative principles, I’m a wife, and a mother, I understand it better than Collin Peterson does right now,” said Hinson.

Hinson will face-off against David Hughes at the Republican District Convention on April 29th in Alexandria hoping to land the party’s endorsement.
