Wolverine Killing Confirmed in North Dakota
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department confirms a ranch hand shot and killed a wolverine near Alexander.
Officials say the ranch hand was checking livestock when they spotted the cattle circling around another animal.
The worker killed the wolverine after fearing for the safety of the cattle.
It is the first verified sighting of the animal in more than a century.
Wolverines may be mistaken for small bears and can kill animals much larger in size if threatened.
