UPDATE: Body Found at Site of Moorhead House Fire
The Moorhead Police Department says officials from the BCA are investigating after a body was found in the rubble of a house fire.
The fire was reported at about 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon at 1019 11th Avenue South.
Police say first responders did not find any evidence of victims in the house after a search.
After an extensive search once the fire was out, investigators found the burnt body under a large pile of debris.
The body was sent to Ramsey County for identification.

Moorhead fire crews respond to a house fire that was thought to have people inside.
Thankfully, no one was in the house when firefighters arrived on scene.
The call came in just after 4:30 this afternoon.
The fire department says the fire started in the southeast corner of the house.
Neighbors say they heard what they thought were fireworks.
The fire is under investigation.
“Once we got a bulk of the fire knocked down, that’s when they said they could really feel the heat of it,” Moorhead Fire Captain Benton Hicks said. “It had a little time to build.”
Captain Hicks says there was a fire in this same house a year ago when someone was using lighter fluid in the basement.
