Gov. Dayton Still Hopes For A Special Session Will Convene

Gov. Dayton is still hoping lawmakers can come together for a special session to hammer out the tax relief package and one billion in public construction projects.

The odds of a special session taking place could depend on the November election, as all 201 legislators are up for re–election.

Dayton said he is moving forward with an alternate funding plan for the Southwest Light Rail line after negotiations stalled with lawmakers.

He said he plans to talk with Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt on bringing everyone back to the table in St. Paul.
