A Picture Worth a Thousand Words? Try More than a Quarter of a Million Dollars

You may not always get to hear about it, but there is some really great news coming out of Chicago.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words…but this viral pic is now worth more than a quarter of a million dollars.

Jose Loera posted this picture of 89-year-old Fidencio Sanchez as he was going through his old neighborhood of Little Village.

He stopped to buy some of Sanchez’s popsicles and learned his only daughter who was his and his wife’s caretaker had recently died so Sanchez was trying to make some extra money to help them survive.

Loera snapped the photo and started a go-fund-me account with a $3,000 goal.

Nearly 100,000 shares later, more than 13,000 people donated over $300,000 in just three days and the money keeps rolling in.

Sanchez, through his tears of thanks, says he will retire with his wife now and only sell popsicles on cooler days.
