Tyson Recalling 130,000 Pounds of Chicken
Tyson Foods is asking consumers to check their chicken.
The company is recalling over 130,000 pounds of fully cooked chicken nugget products.
Company officials say the food products may have pieces of a hard plastic rod that was used to connect a plastic transfer belt during production.
While the final products go through a metal detector, the plastic is not detectable.
The recall affects five pound bags of Tyson Fully Cooked Panko Chicken Nuggets with a use date of July 18, 2017 and 20 pound bulk packages with Spare Time Fully Cooked, Panko Chicken Nuggets and Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Pattie Fritters with Rib Meat with a production date of July 18, 2016.
There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or illnesses associated with the product but the company is asking you to throw the products away or return them to the store you bought them from.
