Redlinger, Moorhead City Council, Agree to Part Ways
Moorhead City Manager Mike Redlinger is out.
That’s the decision of the Moorhead City Council, which discussed the separation at a special meeting.
Redlinger was not at the meeting.
It took council members just over a half hour to figure out the terms of his release.
The council met in an executive session to discuss the conditions of a separation agreement.
Redlinger will be paid six months salary for severance.
He will technically leave his job on April 15th, but he will not be present at the council’s April 11th meeting.
Mayor Del Rae Williams offered a performance review of Redlinger, saying the majority of council members thought he did a good job.
Even then, the majority of council members thought it was best for him to leave his job.
Williams knows we’re all curious about why he’s leaving.
But her lips are sealed.
Williams says, “I know people want to know details, but it’s the kinds of things that are not gonna help Mike along, and it’s not something that we can do legally.”
Council member Brenda Elmer called an executive session to discuss Redlinger’s job performance on March 21st.
The council did not take comments from the public at this meeting, but people will have a chance to speak at the council’s next scheduled meeting on April 11th.
