It may be the largest theft case in Pembina County history.
Thieves were spotted stealing a semi full of about $150,000 worth of salvaged copper and stainless steel from the former ADM Ethanol Plant in Walhalla.

There were chased by the owners of the property.

Two thieves ditched the truck and got away on foot but one other burglar driving a getaway vehicle with a trailer made off with more copper, power tools, generators and other equipment.

That loss is estimated at $30,000.

The BCI may help the Sheriff’s Department in the investigation.
