House Approves Keystone Pipeline

House lawmakers passed legislation approving the controversial Keystone pipeline.

More than two dozen democrats joined all but one republican in voting “yes” for the measure.

The bill now goes to the senate.

The vote comes just hours after the Nebraska Supreme Court removed a key hurdle to Keystone’s construction.

Justices vacated a lower court ruling that declared the pipeline unconstitutional.

If built, the pipeline would transport oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.

The White House says it is waiting for the state department to review the Nebraska decision.

President Obama has previously said he would likely veto any Keystone legislation
