Geography Bee At D-G-F Middle School
Kids at Dilworth–Glyndon–Felton Middle School got to test their geography knowledge.
Sixth, Seventh and eighth graders competed in a Geography Bee.
Students answer questions in categories like physical geography, current events and map reading.
The winner could possibly be nominated for the state competition in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The goal is to help students become more aware of the places and events around the world.
Teacher Kerri Westgard says, “It sparks their interest in this subject and hopefully they start making connections with the world around them beyond just the school day. They can be an informed citizen.”
The Geography Bee is part of a national competition. The winner will be one step closer to the national competition where first prize will be a $50 thousand college scholarship.
