17th Annual Wild World of Weeds

Nothing packs farmers in more than a good hearted discussion about weeds.

The room was packed with 300 farmers, industry representatives and weed control specialists at the 17th annual Wild World of Weeds.

At the workshop they learned the development of weed science and the newest technologies like unmanned aerial vehicles for scanning fields.

Specialists say it’s important to have workshops on herbicides and weeds because it ends up affecting everyone in the community.

NDSU Research Specialist Jason Adams said, “The research that we’re presenting does impact the food chain and the safety and environmental safety so we’re not getting herbicides in the water or anything impacting people’s health.”

Those in the certified crop adviser program received credits in pest management for attending the workshop.
