Do It Yourself Kids Club
Kids gather to make crayon melted candles
Kids in third through sixth grade grabbed crayons, a jar, and a wick to make their own melted crayon candles.
The DIY Kids club meets the fourth Saturday of the month and features a different craft each time.
Community members say this club proves you don’t always have to whisper in the library… it can also be a social place.
“It’s a way to show that the library is more than just books. It’s about being a community center and being a place for everyone to kind of come spend time together. It’s great for families,” said Children’s Services Coordinator Amber Emery.
In February, they plan on making candy wrapper covered light switch plates.
Each monthly session is free with all of the materials provided.
