Engineering and Eggs

What happens when you put kids, eggs and engineering together?

Containers were dropped from the roof of Carl Ben Eielson Middle School in Fargo

The containers were made by 6th graders to protect raw eggs from breaking during the fall.

All the eggs that were dropped from the building survived, meaning the winner would be decided by who had the lightest container.

6th grader Joclynn Beske placed second in the egg drop said, “We went through 7 eggs to get to this point.”

“I think it was 9, It took a lot of different change the plan a lot of times so we went through a lot of eggs,”said egg partner Emily Sherea.

The activity was done so students understood sharing ideas, researching and testing designs.
