Dilworth Woman Accused of Embezzling
A Dilworth woman is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from her employer.
Authorities say Christene Schmidtke admitted to taking between $300,000 and $400,000 over 13 years from Clay County Abstract.
The company claims they lost $423,000.
Schmidtke said she used the money to pay her credit card bills.
She is charged with theft by swindle.
