Local Girls Introduced To Engineering

 “Girls can do anything” is the message some local businesses hope some teen girls hear loud and clear.

As a part of national “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day”, nearly 100 local 8th grade girls were exposed to the field of engineering.

The goal is to get girls interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

The girls went to one of four local engineering companies to take part in activities.

“It was eye opening for me. I didn’t really know what an engineer was, but I think now I might like consider this, because I like doing things with my hands and this would be good,” said 8th grader Brooklyn Klein.

Some of the companies the girls visited include Bobcat Company and Moore Engineering.
