Man Drowns After Falling Through Ice

A 50-year-old man has died and his 2-year-old grandson is hospitalized after their ATV went through the ice of Lake Andrew near Alexandria.

James Minnerath died after being airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

His grandson is in critical condition at Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis.

Minnerath had been celebrating his 50th birthday and riding the ATV on the lake with his grandson, went they went through the ice.
